Current Equipment Needs

Cabrini relies on philanthropic support to acquire new medical equipment to enhance patient care.

By contributing to the purchase of advanced medical technology, you can help Cabrini hospital deliver better healthcare services and improve patient outcomes. Your support can make a significant difference in the lives of those who rely on Cabrini for medical treatment.

Transport Defibrillators

$12,000 each (4 needed)

A transport defibrillator is a medical device used to help save lives during emergencies. It is portable and can be easily carried from one place to another for quick access. The device delivers an electric shock to the heart to restore its normal rhythm in case of a sudden cardiac arrest. These are used when patients need to be moved between wards or to surgery and are at risk of arrest

Cardiac Pacemakers (Acute Cardiac)

$8,500 each (25 needed)

Temporary cardiac pacemakers are often used in the ICU following open-heart surgery to help regulate a patient’s heart rhythm while the heart recovers. By providing gentle electrical signals that keep the heart beating at a safe and stable rate, these devices support circulation and give the heart time to heal. This careful monitoring and control helps prevent complications and ensures patients remain stable during the critical early stages of recovery.

CTG Machine (Birth Suites)

$26,500 each (1 needed)

Cardiotocography (CTG) machines are an essential part of care in the birth suite, continuously monitoring a baby’s heart rate and the mother’s contractions during labour. This real-time information helps clinicians quickly identify any signs that a baby may be in distress and respond promptly if intervention is needed. By supporting careful monitoring throughout labour, CTG machines help ensure safer births and the best possible outcomes for both mother and baby

ECG Machine (Medical imaging)

$11,000 each (2 needed)

An electrocardiogram (ECG) machine is a medical device used to measure the electrical activity of the heart. They are used to diagnose heart conditions such as irregular heartbeats, heart attacks, and other cardiac problems. During an ECG test, electrodes are placed on a patient's chest, arms, and legs to record the heart's electrical signals. The information gathered from an ECG test helps healthcare professionals to evaluate the heart's health and identify any abnormalities.

TOE Machines (Theatres)

$250,000 each (2 needed)

A transoesophageal ultrasound (TEE) provides highly detailed images of the heart via a probe in the oesophagus, enabling accurate diagnosis of valve disease, blood clots and structural abnormalities. This enhanced imaging supports early detection and treatment planning, improving patient outcomes. TEE is minimally invasive and often avoids the need for surgical diagnostic procedures.

On behalf of the doctors, nurses, patients, researchers, volunteers and staff, the Cabrini Foundation team sincerely thank you for your consideration of this project to enable Cabrini to provide the best level of patient treatment and care now and for the future.

With your help, we can continue to fund state-of-the-art equipment that delivers world-class care and ensure every patient receives excellence in care, for life.

Thank you for considering our project
