Thanks to your generosity, Cabrini’s new da Vinci 5 surgical robot has arrived on site, marking an exciting milestone in the growth of Cabrini's robotic surgery program.

“The addition of another soft tissue robotic system expands our capacity to offer minimally invasive, robotic-assisted surgery to more patients across a broader range of specialities,” Cabrini Peri Operative Nurse Director, Kerry Bateman said.

For A/Prof Daniel Moon, Chair of Cabrini’s Robotics Committee, the arrival of a second robot represents an important new chapter in the care Cabrini can provide.

“I’d like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who offered support to our appeal. Achieving this, being able to acquire a second machine, is going to make a profound difference to what we can do here at Cabrini – today, tomorrow and in the years going forward,” he said.

“With the access and vision of robotics we have superior magnification, you can see things in great detail and remove cancers, wherever they are, all through keyhole surgery. Previously, that was unimaginable.”
